Ellen Degeneres: A Rampage of Appreciation

Every once in a while I get to thinking how one woman can bring so much joy to the world. That has to be Ellen DeGeneres.

I will never forget the first time I saw her on TV. It was many years ago when I was going through a very rough time. In fact I was in a depression that I could not find my way out of and I had just made a big move back to my home province after the death of my husband of many years.

I was staying in a hotel room because my home was not ready to move into and I happened to turn on the TV. And there she was, this dynamic beautiful and very funny, Ellen DeGeneres. Now remember I was in a depression and I could not remember the last time I had laughed about anything. In minutes, I was laughing so hard I could not stop. Everything she said was hilarious. She was doing a stand-up comedy in this show. My son was with me and he too, was roaring with laughter and he could hardly believe his eyes to see his mother rolling with laughter.

Ever since that time, I have made it a point to watch Ellen’s show whenever I am able. I do so because she makes me feel happy. She has a way of making everyone feel better.

I have never seen anyone who is so skilled at bringing humor to situations without harming anyone else. Many comedian’s humor is at the expense of someone and this is not the case with Ellen. She is funny and respectful and confident and one can tell she is doing what she was meant to do on this planet.

Life is supposed to be fun and she allows us all to laugh with her and have fun. She makes it OK to have fun and be goofy. She is relaxing to be around because you know she will uplift everyone.

I have always wanted to be on her show and know that one day I will be. Who knows, someone who knows her, may be reading this and they will tell her and she will call me and say “Hey Joanie, wanna be on my show this week” and I will say “what took you so long to ask me Ellen and yes I will be there tomorrow, is that too soon?”

I love the way she is with children. She brings them on her show and is helping to change people’s image of children as wise and wonderful beings. In my time as a child, it was rare to see a child on TV being interviewed for something that they did that was wonderful and it is people like Ellen who are helping us to see children as the wise and capable and talented beings that they are.

I love this woman and how she is lightening up our planet.  She is so in tune with her infinite intelligence and her highest truth. That which is likened to itself is drawn. Ellen draws other beautiful people to her.

I feel blessed beyond belief to have her in my life even though we do not know each other. I consider her a friend, as so many do because she just has that way about her, that makes so many feel happier and more alive.

Thank you Ellen. Many times I have been on your show in my mind and when I actually dance with you on your show, that will be a very big day for me, because I love to dance.

I just want to go on and on and on about how much I love you and how appreciative I am of your presence in our lives. And for now, I will close with more to say another time perhaps.
